History:

Grace Hall was built in c. 1859 and is a great example of Italianate Antebellum style architucture. Grace Hall used to be home to Selma's Mayor M. J. Williams. In more recent times it was a prominent bed & breakfast where former first lady Lady Bird Johnson stayed on several occasions. Grace Hall is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Ghosts:

Grace Hall is believed to be the home of "Miz Eliza" the lady of the house in the late nineteenth century. She appears mainly to children and young women, wearing a long white dress and accompanied by a little black dog. Miz Eliza was the mother of four girls and seems fond of children. An old gentleman has been seen as well. Apparently, he is Mr. Satterfield, an attorney who lived there as a boarder for 25 years. Several other ghosts have been spotted over the years for a total of five spirits believed to share the home with the owners.
